Dan da Rocha & Steven Honders attending Indievelopment 2016

Indievelopment takes place in just a few weeks! Time to announce some more speakers.

Daniel Da Rocha is director at Fiddlesticks and Toxic Games and the creator of the award-winning game Q.U.B.E. Steven Honders will also be giving a talk at Indievelopment. Steven is a game designer and co-founder of the indie studio Speelbaars, creators of the game Lumini.

Daniel Da Rocha has created a number of successful indie games. Q.U.B.E, Mortar Melon, Hue and the upcoming sequel to his first game, Q.U.B.E 2. In his talk titled “Breaking into the games industry” Dan will discuss what you can do to prepare yourself for the games industry. What skills do you need, how do you promote yourself and how can you build up a reputation for yourself as a skilled developer? Dan Da Rocha will share his experiences about how he got into the game industry and, more importantly, how you can do the same!

Steven Honders is the founder of Speelbaars, creators of Lumini. His specialties are level design, gameplay design and emergent game design. His talk “Understanding your players; the power of curiosity” will discuss the power of curiosity in games. A lot of successful games use the curiosity of their players, and it might make the difference between a successful game and a less successful one. Steven will talk about games that use curiosity well and how they incorporated it at Speelbaars into their games.

It’s not too late to be able to see these speakers at Indievelopment! Tickets for the event are available at: https://www.indievelopment.nl/#tickets
